Makes about 3 dozen cookies
This delicious recipe is sure to please all the ghosts and bobbins that visit your house on Halloween, and it’s easy too because you start with a box.
1 box spice cake mix
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
Baker’s syrup
Preheat oven to 350°f. Put the contents of the box in a large mixing bowl. Add the eggs and oil as directed. Add the pumpkin, chocolate chips and nuts. Begin stirring and add just enough cold water to form a soft dough, about half what is asked for on the box. You want a cookie dough, not a cake batter. Spoon or scoop onto baking sheets that have been lined with Baker’s_Parchment. Use about rounded teaspoon full for each cookie. Place about an inch apart. Use the back of a spoon that has been dipped in oil and slightly flatten each lump of cookie dough. Place in the oven and bake until golden brown, about twelve to fifteen minutes. Paint with warm baker’s syrup as soon as they are removed from the oven.
