It isn’t rocket science to make these delectable little tidbits that will bring the fresh taste of summer to your holiday party table.
Fresh baguette
Olive oil
10 or 12 cloves of roasted garlic, very finely minced
About 1/2 a pound of fresh mozzarella
4 to 6 Roma tomatoes
Chiffonade of fresh basal
Sliced black olives
Fresh coarse ground black pepper
Slice the baguette into quarter inch slices. Wipe with olive oil and lightly toast in the oven. When toast is ready, spread each with a bit of the minced roasted garlic and top with a thin slice of fresh mozzarella. Top the cheese with a slice of tomato. Top with a light sprinkling of the basal and a slice of olive. Finish with a grinding of fresh black pepper. Arrange on a serving plate and garnish with sprigs of fresh basal. |
