When it comes to dips this one is a real crowd pleaser. It is a cheese lovers dream. Serve with chips, pita or a plate of cut vegetables. For the vegetables think beyond the celery and carrot stick format. Try mushrooms, cauliflower florets, slices of chayote squash, spears of cucumber and even wedges of sweet purple onion. All make excellent additions to the usual carrots and celery.
2/3 cup softened cream cheese
2/3 cup finely grated extra sharp Cheddar cheese
2/3 cup finely crumbled blue cheese
4 to 6 cloves of roasted garlic, finely minced
1/4 cup finely minced sweet purple onion, or to taste
1 finely minced green onion, including most of the green
About 2 tablespoons finely minced fresh dill weed
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Enough buttermilk or extra rich cream to make into a dippable texture
Salt and fresh coarse ground black pepper to taste
Mix all together well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Garnish with a slice of tomato and a sprig of fresh dill. |
