One of the San Francisco Bay Area’s treasures is Weill Hall and Lawn at the Green Music Center on the campus of Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park. Weill Hall is the permanent home of the Santa Rosa Symphony. In addition to performances by the symphony, it offers a year round calendar of outstanding, local and world class entertainments.
Since it’s opening in September of 2012 with a stellar performance by Lang Lang, it has played host to such outstanding performers as Itzhak Perlman, Jessie Norman, Steve Martin, Herbie Hancock, Joshua Bell, Yo Yo Ma and Winton Marcellus. Whether enjoyed inside the acoustically pristine hall or in the more casual setting of the lawn, a visit to Weill Hall is always rewarding.
And, speaking of the lawn, you only have a month left in which to enjoy concerts in this casual and relaxing environment. The lawn season ends on September 25th with a concert by baritone singer/songwriter, Chris Young.
Once the lawn closes however, you will be able to settle into a rich winter season of outstanding performances. In addition to the Santa Rosa Symphony you can look forward to appearances by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Itzhak Perlman, the Vienna Boys Choir, Garrison Keillor, Arlo Guthrie and much more.
For information on these and other performances visit The Green Music Center’s website at The Green Music center’s Website.
Oh yes, don’t forget. You only have a month to take advantage of summer concerts on the lawn. Bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy what remains of summer.
