The privacy of each visitor to The Questing Feast website (www.thequestingfeast.com) is important to us.  At The Questing Feast, we recognize that the privacy of your personal information is important.

This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we receive and collect when you visit our site, and how we safeguard that information.  We never rent or sell your information to third parties.  We never share your information without your permission or as required by law.

Explicit Information Collection and Sharing:

In order to browse our site, you are not required to provide personally identifying information such as your name or e-mail address.  However, should you choose to provide such information (for example by e-mailing us or by registering on our forum) it will only be used for the purposes you specify or to respond to your message or request.

Our Forum retains and displays personal information. When you register for our forum, you are asked to provide your name and e-mail address, and optionally additional information.  Most of this information appears on a public profile in the forum.  Non-private information on your forum profile may be available to any site visitors.  You can edit this information at any time, remove certain information, change privacy options for certain information, or delete your account.  Please note that deleting your account will not delete messages you previously posted on the forum, and those messages will include your identifying information on them.  You can delete your forum posts prior to deleting your account to avoid any residual information being retained.

The Forum also provides you with an option to subscribe to our newsletter.  If you elect that option, we may periodically send you updates about our site or forum by e-mail.  Instructions for unsubscribing are included in every e-mail and are available by editing your forum profile at any time.

Automatic Information Collection:

As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in web server log files.

The information in the log files includes your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as AOL or Verizon), the browser you are using to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox), the time you visit our site, what website you came to our site from, what search terms you used on a search engine to find our site (if you came to our site directly from a search engine), and which pages you visit during your stay.  You can view specifically what most of this information is at some other online sites, such as show-ip.net.

We use this information to learn what parts of The Questing Feast are popular, how visitors find our site, and how we can improve our site to better meet your needs.

Cookies and Web Beacons:

We use cookies to store information, such as personal preferences, and to provide the ability to login to some features, such as our Forum.

We display third-party advertisements on The Questing Feast in order to support our site.  Some of these advertisers may use technology such as cookies and web beacons when they advertise on our site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google and Amazon) information including your IP address, your ISP , the browser you used to visit our site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed.  This is generally used for geotargeting purposes (showing New York restaurant ads to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites.)

You can chose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security.  However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site, as well as other websites.  This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.

Financial Transactions:

We may in the future accept donations or offer subscription content.  Your transaction will be handled by a trusted third-party merchant service that will collect personal information in order to validate and provide billing.  The Questing Feast will be provided with the information necessary to identify and contact you, and the purpose of the funds, but not your credit card or bank account numbers.  Information we receive in the course of financial transactions will be protected in the same ways as information acquired through other means.

Other Sites:

Please note that when you leave our site, the privacy policy of whatever site you are visiting applies.  This includes our sponsors (e.g. Amazon, and Google and their advertisers), as well as any other site linked to from The Questing Feast.
