Romantic Summer Solstice Picnic for Two

On or about June 21, is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year.  In times gone by, this was a day of great celebration; a time of feasting and dancing of music and reveler.  Today unfortunatelly, few people note the day at all, yet alone greet it with any degree of celebrity.

Why not seize this as an opportunity to celebrate someone special in your life with a quiet evening picnic for two.  Fill a hamper with special provender and “hi thee to some serene place,” where you can watch the sun set, on this the longest day of the year, and drink a toast to loving friends and friendly lovers.  Below are recipes for a suggested menu to help you celebrate.
