Do You or Someone You Care About Need Help?

NOAH has had to temporarily suspend its operations. Those in need of emergency food assistance should call the Redwood Empire Food Bank at 523-7900. The old firehouse where we distributed food attracted rodents in late June. To protect the health of our clients we had to close operations and seek another location. We are working with the City of Rohnert Park, real estate agents and NOAH member agencies to find a new location. We have several leads at the moment and appreciate the gracious offers of help that many in the community are providing during this time of need.

NOAH

began in 2004 with a small group of people who were concerned about the increasing incidents of hunger in our community. In 2005 NOAH began a Food Pantry to supply food parcels to needy families in the Rohnert Park, Cotati and Penngrove communities. In the four years plus, that NOAH has been in opperation we have distributed food to thousands of families in our community. In that time, with the downswing of the economy, the need for our service has

nearly doubled. Currently we serve over 260 families a week, many of whom are children under eighteen and seniors. NOAH is now one of the largest Food Pantries in Sonoma County, last year distributing nearly 250,000 pounds of food, and our need is growing. AND we have been achieving this on a budget of less than $20,000 a year.

Recipients MUST bring identification verifying that they live in the communities of Rohnert Park, Cotati or Pengrove.

Who Are We

Currently NOAH is comprised of six different church groups and service organizations.

St. John’s United Methodist Church

The churches and organizations listed above take it in turn on a monthly rotation to be responsible the operation of the NOAH pantry. During their month, they are responsible for the organization of the distribution, providing volunteer labor for the unloading of the delivery trucks, packaging and distribution of the food parcels, cleanup and of course the ever dreaded paper work. There is also a stable of regular volunteers who donate their time and energy on an ongoing basis.

What Do We Distribute?

Where Does it Come From?

We try to distribute a balance of protein, breads, canned and packaged foods and fresh produce. Where does this come from? The majority of the food we distribute comes from the umbrella organization, Redwood Empire Food Bank.

We also receive food food donations from local grocery stores, organizations, and individuals.
