Honey Syrup

This simple honey based syrup is excellent for enhancing may baked goods.  Try painting it on cakes and pastries as soon as they come out of the oven.  Refrigerated, it will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator.  Just heat it up in the microwave and use it.

 

1 cup water

1 cup honey

2 tablespoons butter

1 thin slice fresh ginger root

1 inch piece of stick cinnamon

 

Put all ingredients together in a pot and bring to a boil.  Immediately reduce to a simmer and simmer for about ten minutes.  Remove the ginger and cinnamon and use to enhance baked goods.
